What was learned in this artistic exercise was: Drawing is a way of seeing. You see more when you draw and you begin to see things you never noticed before. Museum’s often encourage students to bring sketchbooks and draw the paintings they like. The advantage is that you have the artist’s composition, format, and colors worked out for you. As you look at the painting as a reference you ask yourself “ what color did the artist begin with?
